Your RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) – and its support for the ORB Recovery Network.

I am super excited to have received a donation of over £5000 from Your RAK. I’ve got to admit i was bought to tears, when the cheque was handed to me, as i know the difference that this donation can make to many people in recovery, and i was blown away by the amount.

Nickie Stringer and her dad presenting the Oasis CEO Colin the fantastic donation – outside Your RAK in Burnham.

Your RAK is a charity shop based in the High Street Burnham, it is run by an ex-service user, Nickie Stringer and her family. Your RAK raises funds for Oasis and the One Recovery Bucks service, helping to support activities within the recovery network.

Nickie and her family work really hard in the charity shop, which is very much appreciated, anyone running any sort of business during the past few ‘covid’ years will have struggled, as have many of our service users. I shared with Nickie the recovery network projects that aren’t directly funded and she has chosen 3 projects to support:

A monthly recovery meal and activities night in our Wycombe Recovery Cafe, planned for first the Friday every month starting November 4th.

One Recovery Bucks – Recovery Cafe – Wycombe.

A contribution to our project at the Positivity Sanctuary – supporting our #TransformationalTuesday health and wellbeing sessions, (restarting in spring)

Transformational Tuesdays @ The Positivity Sanctuary – Bourne End

A contribution to the Oasis ArtBox sessions – Recovery in Art – sessions currently running in Chesham on a Tuesday and Saturday, and we will be starting sessions again very soon at our ArtBox studio in Desbox – Wycombe.

Oasis ArtBox Studios in Desbox Wycombe and the mural on the Wall at Lewins Yard Chesham.

Thank you so much Nickie, it is support like this from people that enables us to provide a range of much needed recovery support options, which we know are appreciated by our service users.
