FANTASTIC NEWS: The National Lottery Community Fund.

We are really pleased to be able to announce that Oasis has been awarded 3-year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.  We are excited to be able to set up a new Intergenerational Project for the Chilterns area, which will be based at our Bagnall Project in Chesham.

Our new Intergenerational Project will be called Friends-2-Gether. Working with older and younger people, we aim to bring them together in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities.

Our aim is to promote greater understanding and respect between generations, building relationships between those that live and learn in the same community – but may not have the opportunity to get together.

The Friends-2-Gether project aims to improve physical and mental health, decrease social isolation, increase sense of belonging, self-esteem, and wellbeing, whilst also improving social, emotional and employability skills.

By providing a wide range of activities we hope to increase cooperation, interaction and exchange between people of different generations enabling them to share their talents and resources and support each other in relationships that benefit all involved.

We will be recruiting a new team to run Friends-2-Gether, with adverts going out next week.

We plan to launch the new service in July, and will begin consulting the community and other key stakeholders in the coming weeks and months so that we can design a diverse and inclusive programme that meets local needs and desires.

Massive thanks to the players of The National Lottery. @TNLComFund @TNLCommunityFund
