Project Summary
This post has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, as part of a new Intergenerational Project for Chesham and the Chilterns area. This new project is called Friends-2-Gether. Working with older and younger people, our intention is to bring them together in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities. Our aim is to promote greater understanding and respect between generations, building relationships between those that live and learn in the same community – but may not have the opportunity to get together.    The Friends-2-Gether project aims to improve physical and mental health, decrease social isolation, increase sense of belonging, self-esteem, and wellbeing, whilst also improving social, emotional and employability skills.  By providing a wide range of activities such as our Media Launchpad we hope to increase cooperation, interaction and exchange between people of different generations enabling them to share their talents and resources and support each other in relationships that benefit all involved.  
Job Summary 
To recruit, train and manage volunteers involved in the delivery of services across the Oasis Partnership, ensuring that the charity is following best practice and that risk is always managed. To be key in the delivery of the Friends2Gether project, ensuring that 600 Chilterns residents partake in the intergenerational project over the next 3 years. This role will be key in monitoring and evaluating the Oasis Partnership Volunteer programme and the Friends2Gether project, and that findings from monitoring and evaluations are acted upon.   The success of the role will be measured against the following: Delivery of the Friends2Gether project to 600 + participants over 3 years. Development and implementation of a successful intergenerational befriending programme. Support of existing volunteers at Oasis Partnership. Recruitment and training of new volunteers in response to the growth of the Oasis Partnership and the need within the One Recovery Bucks project. Development of a comprehensive, yet accessible, training programme for volunteers in various roles across The Oasis Partnership and One Recovery Bucks.   The Project Manager will directly line manage the Friends2Gether team and will ensure volunteer line management is provided within the staff teams.  
Skills, knowledge, experience & education
Experience of working with, managing, or coordinating, volunteers across various projects within an organization. Experience of writing and implementing volunteer policies. Experience or knowledge of delivering befriending projects and best practice in befriending. Experience of delivering training and support to volunteers. Ability to adapt work if the needs of the organization or project participants changes. Experience of working as part of a small team. Experience of implementing monitoring and evaluation processes. Experience of working in the voluntary sector. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Teams and Excel Knowledge of latest volunteer involvement best practice, including knowledge of DBS requirements. Experience in managing staff would be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of the Friends2Gether project, engaging 300 people in the intergenerational programme over three years. Managing and delivering the befriending aspect of the Friends2Gether project. Working closely with staff at the Oasis Partnership to deliver a variety of activities to participants of the Friends2Gether project. Monitoring and evaluating the Friends2Gether project, tracking how the programme empowers, builds confidence, and decreases social isolation of participants. Building relationships with local organisations and services to promote and find referral pathways for the Friends2Gether project. Create and deliver a variety of initiatives that will build a legacy of ongoing support for participants after exiting from the project. Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments. Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of Oasis Partnership; Raise staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers. Promote volunteering opportunities (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns, including local events. Recruit and interview volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position within Oasis. Carry out pre-volunteering checks, including references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where appropriate. Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers through regular informal contact and more structured reviews. Offer advice and information to volunteers and external organisations through face-to-face, telephone and email contact. Keep up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes. Work with multiple agencies across different sectors in order to establish good working relationships to influence decisions about volunteering.
