Media, Arts & Culture
At Oasis we passionately believe that everyone should have the opportunity to discover, or re-discover, their potential regardless of background or circumstances.
The Oasis Media Arts and Culture programme is designed to inspire people, to raise aspirations and to develop and promote new talent and skills, focusing on creativity, community, music writing and production, digital, technology, podcasting and film.
We have aspirations to maximise the potential of the Oasis Cafe building and we want to hear from you, to add to our plans and ideas.
The Frank Hodge Podcast Studio.
We are extremely proud to offer the Frank Hodge Podcast Studio, named in memory of Frank Hodge, one of our long standing Trustees, representing the service user voice at Board level, he ran his own weekly alcohol support group in Wycombe, got very involved in our volunteer project, helping with recruitment and mentoring new volunteers. He was also a lovely and funny man, with a long and exciting career as BBC cameraman. Frank planted the idea of the Media Launchpad with us and although he sadly passed before he saw his idea take shape – I am sure he will be pleased with the result.
We have called our podcasts “Lets Be Frank” podcast – where we aim to publish a range of different conversations and discussions relevant to our charity. You can find our podcast on Spotify and other podcast channels.
Music – writing, recording, production.
Jon and Connor our Media, Arts & Culture project workers support people to be creative in our music studio, with recording, production, music making, music lessons, podcasting and so much more. We are keen to expand our offer and are keen to engage volunteers to help us grow our provision and help more people realise their creativity.
